Position Overview: Design and develop molds, tooling, and manufacturing machinery to support production operations. Create technical drawings, specifications, and design solutions while ensuring optimal performance, quality, and cost-effectiveness in manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities:

Design Engineering

  • Design injection molds and tooling
  • Develop manufacturing machinery
  • Create technical drawings and specifications
  • Design mechanical components
  • Optimize design for manufacturability
  • Support prototype development
  • Lead design validation

Technical Documentation

  • Create detailed engineering drawings
  • Develop technical specifications
  • Maintain design documentation
  • Generate bills of materials
  • Create assembly instructions
  • Update design standards
  • Manage revision control

Required Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field
  • Associate's degree with relevant experience considered
  • Professional engineering certification preferred

Experience:

  • 5+ years mold design experience
  • 3+ years machinery design experience
  • Manufacturing environment experience
  • Injection molding knowledge
  • CAD software proficiency
  • Project management experience

Technical Skills:

Design Software:

  • SolidWorks (required)
  • AutoCAD
  • Mastercam
  • Moldflow analysis
  • Finite element analysis
  • 3D modeling
  • Rendering software

Engineering Knowledge:

  • Injection molding processes
  • Tool and die design
  • Mechanical design principles
  • Material science
  • Manufacturing processes
  • Quality standards
  • Cost estimation
