The Opportunity
Williams International Co, LLC, has an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Engineering Technician Duct Assembly & Composite Trainer to join our team at our facility located at 3450 Sam Williams Dr., Ogden, UT 84401. The successful applicant will be responsible for assisting team leaders in all duties, managing gas turbine engine duct assembly, and gas turbine composite fabrication cells.

This position is 100% onsite, and no remote or hybrid option is available at this time.
More Specific Duties Include:
- Assist Team Leaders in managing the fabrication of duct assembly and composite gas turbine engine components. Coordinates with team leaders, engineers, and management on manufacturing improvements. Ensures that parts and components are manufactured to production planning, meet company quality, and cost requirements.
- Conduct manufacturing assignments of turbine gas engine duct assemblies' projects, analysis of manufacturing problems, and development of significant criteria to support duct design engineering concepts and feasibility.
- Oversee CNC laser machining, CNC laser weld, conventional lathes, mills and forming processes to improve current parts and provide feasibility studies for novel part designs.
- Lead manufacturing insourcing efforts from suppliers and internal cells to review proposed engineering design changes and associated impact across machines and schedule.
- Collect first article inspection requirements for new part revisions to ensure design changes are implemented
- Coordinate scrap reduction efforts through improved tooling design, written operator instructions, and corrective action resolutions.
- Report nonconforming parts via the internal quality tracking system to monitor trends and recommend solutions to recurring discrepancies.
- Assist Team Leaders in identifying quality escapes and isolating suspect lots to implement corrective actions and update process instructions.
- Supervise duct work and composite fabrication on complicated jobs to prepare for final fabrication and assembly.
- Train riveting cell specialists per approved course outlines for the certification of Rivet Installation Operators and Welding Operators.
- Gather performance metrics to determine schedules based on available human and capital resources.
- Participate in preparing engineering proposals by compiling or providing technical data and drawings. Prepares and submits various reports related to the assignment.
- Ensure employee compliance with the various computerized systems on the factory floor, such as, Online Quality Reporting (OQR), Statistical Process Control (SPC), Factory Data Collection (FDC), and other similar programs.
- Assist in the evaluation and review of engineering drawings and designs for the production and manufacturing of gas turbine engines.
- Performs final inspection on finished parts, such as engine/airframe interface components.
- Assures the work areas are free of safety hazards and employees are working with the proper PPE (glasses, gloves, etc.) as required by our procedures. Assists in conducting safety and quality audits.
M-F 40 hrs./wk. 8:00 am - 5:00 pm.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: 2 years of aerospace turbine engine manufacturing experience for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
