CONTRACT SPECIALIST

Salary Range: $75,000 - $100,000 / year

CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT SPECIALIST - CONTRACT ADMINISTRATION- CULTURAL PROGRAMS

SIRIS is seeking 12 Contract Specialists to provide full-time professional contract support for the Smithsonian Institute, within the Architect-Engineering and Construction Contracting Division (AEC), part of the Office of Contracting and Personal Property Management (OCon&PPM). This is a six-month contract position with potential for five additional six-month extensions.

This is an exciting opportunity to support acquisitions across SIs 21 museums, research centers, and the National Zoo, including design, construction, and A/E service contracts. Ideal candidates will be knowledgeable in a variety of federal procurement types and procedures, and capable of working under the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Smithsonians internal guidelines.

Qualifications:

Prior experience supporting federal or public-sector contracting

Strong written communication and organizational skills

Ability to work independently and in collaboration with a team

Key Responsibilities:

Draft, solicit, and negotiate contracts for architecture/engineering, renovation, construction, and services

Prepare and review procurement documents: RFPs, contracts, modifications, source selection memos, etc.

Analyze Statements of Work (SOW) and Independent Government Estimates (IGE)Ensure compliance with applicable regulations including FAR, GAO decisions, and Smithsonian policies

Work closely with the Associate Director or designee to support procurement operations
