Franklin & Marshall College is recruiting for a full-time Electrician.

Job Details:

  • Location: F&M Campus - Lancaster, PA
  • Classification: Full-time, Exempt
  • Schedule: 40 hours, Monday to Friday.
  • Reports to: Electrical Supervisor
  • Department: Facilities Management
  • Approved Hourly Rate: $24.00 - $26.50 per hour

Job Description:

The Electrician is a skilled position, which provides a highly skilled level of service in all aspects of electrical work on College owned properties. The Electrician will assist other trades as needed.

Essential Functions:

  • Perform all aspects of maintaining interior and exterior lighting on campus.
  • Maintain fire alarm panels and devices in residence halls and other campus buildings. Program addressable devices, troubleshoot signal and device circuits and clean and replace detectors. Test fire alarm communication lines to Public Safety office. Check pull-stations twice a year. Check signal devices on and off campus annually.
  • Maintain, install and repair switchgear, transformers and electrical panels. Isolate fault during power outages. Assist utility company during repairs. Maintain high voltage safety equipment such as gloves, grounders and hot sticks.
  • Operate power tools and maintain shop and personal tools. Maintain appropriate levels of consumable materials and supplies.
  • Perform on call duties throughout the year. Assist Special Work Assignment Team on college events. Assist grounds with snow removal.

Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • At least 4 years of relevant electrical experience.
  • Proficiency in Google Suite Products (Docs, Gmail, Sheets, Slides, Drive)
  • Evidence of a commitment to community and belonging.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Successful interview.
  • Successful completion of background checks.

Additional Information:

Offers of employment are contingent upon the successful completion of reference checks, a criminal background verification, and verification of credentials. The College will coordinate these verifications.
