YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform soil, concrete, grout, masonry, and asphalt tests
  • Prepare detailed and complete field reports with all relevant test results and observations
  • Communicate with clients, contractors, and engineering and technician staff regarding construction issues
  • Conduct thorough inspections of construction sites to verify adherence to design specifications and quality standards
  • Document and report any deviations, defects, or issues discovered during inspections
  • Collaborate with senior inspectors and project managers to confirm that construction activities meet safety regulations and project requirements
  • Assist with the review and interpretation of construction plans, special provisions, and technical documents
  • Maintain clear and accurate inspection records and reports for compliance and reporting purposes
  • Learn and apply industry-specific software and tools for inspection and documentation

CORE REQUIREMENTS:

To excel in this role, candidates must possess the following qualifications:

  • 2-5 years of experience
  • A high school diploma or a high school equivalence certification
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to lift technician equipment weighing up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to walk over rough and uneven terrain and be able to stand up to 12 hours a day on occasion
  • The ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and twist; use hands to grasp; use arms to reach; raise hands above the head; sit; climb; and balance
  • Strong attention to detail

REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS:

  • ACI Concrete Field-Testing Technician Grade I
  • Soils & Aggregate Compaction Technician (MARTCP or VDOT)
