Purpose of Role: The Estimator/Planner is responsible for accurate quoting, budgeting, and project planning by preparing precise time, cost, and labor estimates for welding and fabrication projects. This role requires informed decision making by analyzing technical documentation and collaborating across departments in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:
- Estimate Preparation: Review engineering documents and customer requests to prepare detailed cost estimates for welding, fabrication, and machining projects.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with sales, engineering, and production teams to gather information for accurate quoting and pricing strategies.
- Cost Analysis & Optimization: Analyze completed projects to compare estimated vs. actual costs, identify improvements, and maintain a historical cost database.
- Market & Compliance Monitoring: Track material and subcontractor pricing trends and ensure compliance with industry standards and company policies.
- Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world class safety culture.
Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a cost estimator in a welding, fabrication, or manufacturing environment is preferred
- 2 year degree in an engineering or technical field would be beneficial
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints.
- Excellent math, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and organizational abilities.
