Mechanical Design Engineer
Join an established and growing engineering group in a role that blends innovation, technical design, and real project impact. As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you'll work on HVAC, piping, and plumbing systems for commercial and light industrial buildingscontributing to high-performance designs used across a variety of industries.
This position involves occasional travel for site visits and field coordination, typically within the region.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop project scope with senior staff and PMs
Run system load calculations using design software
Select HVAC equipment and layout ductwork and piping
Draft plumbing plans for water and sanitary systems
Coordinate designs with other engineering trades
Ensure code compliance and industry standards are met
Assist with system cost evaluations and life-cycle analyses
Conduct site visits and prepare inspection reports
Provide support to CAD designers and drafters
Use Revit for documentation and layout design
This is a direct-hire position offering strong compensation and full benefits. While primarily onsite, there is some flexibility for hybrid work. A relocation bonus is available for candidates outside the area.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
EIT certification
5+ years of mechanical design (HVAC)
Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering or similar
Proficient in Revit and system modeling tools
Strong communication and coordination skills
Able to travel locally for site coordination
PREFERRED SKILLS:
PE license or working toward licensure
Familiarity with mechanical system cost estimating
Understanding of job site installation practices
Ability to explain designs clearly to internal and external teams
