JOB DESCRIPTION

Hill International is seeking a Business Development Manager in Dallas, Texas

This opening requires a dynamic individual who is skilled in business development with 3-5 years of experience and a general working knowledge of the construction industry. This role will support the Director of Business Development in the implementation of regional growth development strategies for the Southern Region. General responsibilities include identifying and tracking pursuit leads, establishing positive client relationships through effective client meetings and networking, developing & maintaining competitor knowledge, developing win strategies for targeted opportunities, leading proposal and interview preparation, and maintaining ongoing client and partner relationships. This position will be reporting to the Director of Business Development and working closely with local operations team to implement business development growth initiatives for the region. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple tasks and requests from various internal stakeholders. Additional duties include coordination of all proposal submissions, interviews, marketing and social promotions.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Identifying & Pursuing Opportunities:

Understand Hill's target markets, resources and services

Identify business opportunities and leads in targeted markets consistent with our business strategy

Researches and analyzes target market sectors to identify potential clients and partners

Perform the lead role (Capture Manager) in pursuits throughout the region

Develop specific client and opportunity strategies

Participate in Go/No Go discussions

Lead team effort to position for targeted pursuits

Maintain a healthy CRM record of events and leads for tracking and sales forecasting

Document activities and meeting notes

Provide direct assistance on the development of RFQ and RFP responses and presentations, working closely with the BD and Operation teams to refine non-technical elements of proposal.

Positioning and Selling:

Identify and effectively participate in industry networking opportunities

Participate in organizations, conferences and events to support and sell the Hill brand and services and engage industry partners and clients.

Meet with potential clients to develop an understanding of potential opportunities and position for future work.

Meet with decision makers and influencers to understand client needs/objectives

Identify key issues important to clients

Facilitate effective engagement between clients and our operations experts

Document client meetings

Identify and research competitors

Understand strengths and weaknesses of competitors

Lead effective teaming strategies when appropriate

Inform win strategy development based on competitive intelligence

Developing Win Strategies

Understand decision process and who decision makers will be

Develop clear understanding of client decision drivers

Develop Win Strategies focused on the best approach to deliver client value

Lead Proposal and Interview Preparation

Lead the process of developing proposals and presentations focused on defined Win Strategies

Own the proposal process, working closely with Operations and Proposals partners

Lead team development of presentations

Effectively coach presentation teams

Help Identify Strategic Hires

Identify strategic hiring needs based on targeted opportunities

Keep internal recruiters informed of key hire needs

Reach out to industry network to help identify strategic hire candidates

Maintain Relationships

Continue to support and implement a strong client maintenance plan and present ongoing support of our services.

Develop client strategies to help have specific plan to always keep client interests as our primary focus

Research, develop, and maintain a healthy list of industry partners for teaming opportunities and collaboration.

Leads execution of teaming agreements and memo of understandings (MOU's) with team

QUALIFICATIONS

4- year college degree required

3-5 years in an Business Development role for a professional AEC firm, preferably with specific Program Management and Construction Management experience

Excellent communication skills, verbal and written including presenting.

Demonstrate collaborative team leadership and team building characteristics.

Clear understanding of primary industry and delivery of services.

Self-motivated, success oriented and organized

Candidate should bring familiarity with local market, clients and competitors

Proven track record of success in past roles.

Travel as needed/expected

Expertise in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required
