Duties and Responsibilities Oversee the successful management of construction projects. Provide leadership to the team with respect to project goals, objectives, and client expectations. Ensures efficient coordination of project requirements. Leads the team in cooperative and synergistic efforts with other disciplines on projects. Manage the RFP/RFQ/LIQ processes and help prepare Statements of Interest (project understanding and approach) by conducting site visits, client preproposal meetings, and collaborating with teaming partners. Direct all financial aspects of the construction team, including P&L responsibility, budget development, cost control, forecasting, and KPI monitoring to achieve financial targets and ensure project profitability. Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing national team of construction managers, engineers, and technical staff, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous professional growth. Enforce a stringent company-wide safety culture and program, ensuring strict adherence to all safety regulations and best practices across all project sites. Direct the negotiation, administration, and compliance of all construction inspection contracts and subcontracts, while proactively identifying, managing, and mitigating project-related risks. Develop project scopes of work and associated budgets. Drive continuous improvement initiatives across all construction processes such as schedules, permitting, community outreach to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, improve project delivery, and ensure regulatory compliance. Perform all other duties as required. Qualifications and Experience Must be an Illinois Licensed Civil Engineer with a minimum of 5 years of construction inspection experience as project manager/resident engineer on roadway, bridge, and railroad construction projects. Minimum of 10 years of total construction management experience with Illinois transportation agencies is desirable.
