An opportunity exists for a Contracts Manager within ASSA ABLOY Opening Solutions UKI, Door Business Segment. This is an 18-month Fixed Term Contract based in South East England.

What would you do as our Contracts Manager

We are seeking a Contracts Manager to join the team in Door Group. In this opportunity, you will assume overall responsibility for the commercial and operational management of allocated sub-contract construction packages contracts from receipt of contract to delivery on site ensuring high levels of customer service while meeting budget expectations.

Reporting to the Senior Contracts Manager, you would:

  • Direct and coordinate all project activities with a focus on performance
  • Manage multiple projects concurrently, setting, reviewing, and implementing project strategy.
  • Fully understand all contract documentation to include scope of works, contractual responsibilities, revenue, costs and budgets.
  • Utilise and follow all aspects of the sub-contract documentation to ensure we maximise revenue and margin potential while at the same time mitigating contractual risk
  • Manage project delivery in line with business objectives and meeting customer expectations
  • Manage project delivery through ordering and managing 3rd party resources, project specific equipment, on-site staffing and supervision to ensure all activity aligns with the project budgets and is completed safely and to the highest quality standards.
  • Lead pre-construction and post-completion processes, managing defects and post-completion works.
  • Ensure compliance throughout projects with all relevant specifications, standards and safety regulations.
  • Regularly review job progress and costings and liaise with the Quantity Surveyor in order to identify and quantify variations and/or adjust.
  • Instruct and liaise with clients, consultants, contractors, and other site workers as required to ensure contract deadlines are met and projects completed in an expedient, timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Develop and maintain excellent customer relationships including regular site meetings regarding project performance, in order to resolve any customer queries.

The skills and experience you need

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience in contract management, as well as proven experience of management of on-site activities in a related industry
  • Holds a qualification in a construction management discipline
  • Has a sound knowledge of contract law
  • Demonstrates an understanding of construction and engineering drawings

Applicants who can demonstrate effective communication skills are welcomed to apply. You will use these skills to develop and maintain excellent customer relationships through regular site meetings, pro-active communication, review of project performance with all stakeholders and to resolve any customer queries when necessary. Applicants will also have experience in project management, showcasing their planning, organising and problem-solving ability.

Due to the nature of the role, experience of health and safety management would be preferred, to ensure the highest level of safety is being driven at all times.
