Volt is hiring Supervisors for a manufacturing client's temporary need in THEODORE, Alabama 36582.What Will You Do In This Role?Utilize employee resources and equipment to achieve production plans and schedules within a specified timeframeTrain, inform, and onboard employees to specific procedures, processes and objective of department stressing and promoting quality and safety standardsComplete 45-day, 90-day, and annual employee reviews accurately according to the performance criteria and in a timely manner; ensure employee signs off on reviews within a timely mannerMaintain production, required personnel attendance, right-to-know and training records and other records pertaining to the departmentPartner with other departments in coordinating raw materials, parts, assemblies, completed units and staffingDirect employee problems to the appropriate authorities for assistance, resolution and response.Continually evaluate workflow and processes, and further recommend more efficient and effective procedures to minimize costs.Manage employee performance and attendance providing real time, honest feedbackParticipate in weekly supervisory meetings to increase and maintain up-to-date communications and relay pertinent information to departmental employeesUpdate manufacturing manager on progress of production plans and schedulesAdminister work rules, regulations and disciplinary action when necessary, observing and practicing safety procedures and policiesInsure TDD, drawing and specification information is current to all production W/O's.Document all drawing and BOM discrepancies and submits them to the engineering group.Utilize problem solving techniques and QA resources when product defects are recognizedEnsure all company policies, procedures, and safety objectives are followed and report any issues promptly and thoroughlyIdentify shortages and communicate in writing weekly shortfalls to purchasing.Communicate production pending information with the Master Scheduler and production team.Continually seek improvements for all 5S and lean manufacturing objectives.Continual input for improvement of production processes effecting product flow and throughput.Other duties and responsibilities as assignedYour Physical Work Environment Will Involve... While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and is frequently exposed to risk of electrical shock. Medium to loud noise level in the work environment Your Experience MUST Include:Minimum 5 years supervisory, lead, and/or teaching experience IN WELDING for groups of 15 or moreKnowledge of TIG and/or FLUX welding in multiple positions for pipe and plateSome understanding of manufacturing best practicesTeam player mentalityAbility to understand and use basic blueprints and mathHigh School Diploma GED OR a welding certification awarded within the last year Additional Skills That Would Be An Asset:JD Edwards and ExcelLean or 5SWelding aluminumWelding 6GPrevious welding experience on pressure vessels or shipsShifts: Night Shift Mon - Thursday 5pm - 3:30am or Weekend Shift Fri/Sat/Sun 5pm-5amPay Rate: Range of $28 to $40/hr, agreed upon during initial phone screen and paid on W2/W4 through Volt Workforce Solutions in the event of an offer.Duration: Up to 4 months through Volt Workforce Solutions, contingent on candidate performance and client business needs.
