We are currently seeking a highly motivated Airside D Safety Assistant located in Tampa, FL .
Required Education:
- Graduation from a recognized college or university with an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
Required Certifications/Licenses:
- Completion of OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety Training required
Preferred Certifications/Licenses:
- Holding additional certifications (e.g., First Aid/CPR, CHST)
Required Qualifications:
In order to become a candidate, you must possess the following skills and abilities:
- 1-3 years of experience in construction safety, preferably on large-scale infrastructure or aviation projects.
- Familiarity with FAA Advisory Circular 150/5370-2 (Operational Safety on Airports During Construction) is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and experience with safety management software is preferred.
- Must be able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and navigate active construction sites
- Must be eligible for airport security clearance and badging
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience on airport or federal projects
- Working night shifts or weekends
Responsibilities:
- Support the implementation and documentation of the Owner's construction safety program
- Monitor the Design-Builder's daily safety activities and verify compliance with approved safety plans and airport operational constraints
- Attend toolbox talks, jobsite safety meetings, and site walks alongside the Design-Builder and CM team
- Assist in maintaining safety logs, incident tracking reports, and site safety audit documentation
- Observe and report on jobsite conditions, housekeeping, PPE usage, and hazard mitigation
- Assist in the review of Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs), and Task-specific Safety Plans submitted by the contractor
- Document safety observations with photographs and field notes; report concerns to the Safety Manager and/or Owner's Representative
- Track contractor compliance with airfield safety requirements and security protocols (e.g., badging, escort procedures, airside/landside restrictions)
- Coordinate with airport operations and Design-Builder for safety during night work or work adjacent to active airside/terminal areas
- Support incident response and investigations, as needed, by compiling logs, witness statements, and other documentation
- Maintain familiarity with FAA, OSHA, TSA, and local agency safety standards applicable to airport construction
Preferred skills and abilities:
- Ability to read and interpret construction documents and safety plans.
Salary:
- $85,000.00/yr.
Bonus Pay:
A bonus may be granted to employees depending on individual performance, employee utilization, attendance, tenure, and furtherance of other non-financial corporate goals; bonus opportunities are available at management's discretion.
