What You’ll Do: The Assistant Safety Manager will assist the National Senior Director of Safety with ensuring work and job site safety, compliance, documentation, training and reporting. Your Key Responsibilities Include:
- Conduct on-site safety meetings, audits, and inspections to ensure compliance, evaluate performance, identify corrective action, and implement follow up assessments
- Plan, implement, and conduct safety and compliance training programs
- Investigate accidents, injuries, and complaints concerning hazards in the workplace
- Assist in the development, implementation and maintenance of safety and health programs, systems and procedures
- Provide monthly reporting on key safety metrics
- Administer employee access to safety system, learning management and OSHA training
- Maintain division/state specific Safety Manuals and distribution
- Maintain an annual calendar of training events and critical path milestones
- Identify monthly safety discussion topics and assist divisions with trainings
- Influence others, through consistent model management: “walks the talk” philosophies, solid business fundamentals and sound ethics
- Supervise all aspects of the construction project ensuring OSHA compliance
- Perform other duties as needed or assigned
- Ability to travel an average of 50-65% and occasional last-minute travel to respond to emergencies
- A safety mindset and ability to instill in others an understanding of the importance of a safe job site
- Respond to afterhours emergency calls
- Sound/ethical judgment, strong leadership skills, and ability to work independently
- Reside in or willing to relocate to Denver, CO
- 1-3 years of job experience in a safety related field or other equivalent background preferred
- Become OSHA 30 certified within 30 days of start date
