Consults with the Maintenance Budget Manager on all contract activities and prepares the necessary contract documents for approval. This involves a thorough analysis of contract packages, which includes the scope of work, cost proposal, contract request form, and any additional documentation required by the procurement division. Conducts research to gather essential information for analyzing the scope of work for effectiveness. Effectively manages contract administrative duties independently, coordinating with various units within the division, maintaining accurate contract records, inputting data, and handling correspondence. Ensures proper filing of contracts and manages both written and verbal communications with external stakeholders, vendors, and others. Reviews contractor performance to confirm that services align with the specifications outlined in the contract and coordinates with the Division of Procurement and Contracts (DPAC) and management on any contract-related issues. Oversees contract closeouts and ensures proper transfer to record storage. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential for tracking, organizing, and reporting data.

This is a Limited Term position which may be extended to 24 months or become permanent.

This position may be eligible for telework. The amount of telework is at the discretion of the Department and based on Caltranss evolving telework policy. Caltrans supports telework, recognizing that in-person attendance may be required based on operational needs. Employees are expected to be able to report to their worksites with minimum notification if an urgent need arises. The selected candidate will be required to commute to the headquartered location as needed to meet operational needs. Business travel may be required, and reimbursement considers an employees designated headquartered location, primary residence, and may be subject to CalHR regulations or applicable bargaining unit contract provisions. All commute expenses to the headquartered location will be the responsibility of the selected candidate. Occasional travel is required.
