Summary
The Construction Manager will oversee project management and final oversight ofall projects within private, commercial, and municipal industries. Establishingcriteria to guide prioritization and ensure that the team's work is aligned withshort and long-term goals of the business will be essential. Taking ownership ofthe project roadmap and delivery of results as well as communication andmessaging around progress to key stakeholders will be critical. The role willrequire regular reporting on status updates, key milestones, and the generalhealth of each project. Information transparency and clarity will be veryimportant to enable swift and effective decision making.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Proactively anticipate and manage change effectively and mitigate riskfactors through careful analysis and planningLead a team of project managers, assistant project managers, andsuperintendentsConduct staff meetings with direct reports no less than bi-weekly; conductreviews with management to ensure accurate and effective execution of allprojectsSupport the project schedule creation and evolution processDevelops forecasted staffing plan for multiple project assignments within asingle program; monitors performance and makes adjustment to resources in orderto meet project milestonesEnsure proper approvals prior to initiation of the construction phaseCoordinates between contractors and stakeholders to resolve any issuesduring project implementationControl finances of each project and maintain deliverables on time, onbudget, in alignment with client and company's expectationsDevelop and manage the budget to meet project cost objectivesDevelop and maintain the strongest relationships possible with clients togrow revenue streamsCollaborate with estimating team to assess the scope of project andcost/time estimatesWork with the Superintendent and field team to coordinate job functions withcrews and subcontractorsParticipate in quality assurance and regulatory audits with staff andclients as necessaryReport contract-related project schedule delays, budget overruns, customerescalations, and scope changes to the Field Operations ManagerProvide on-site analysis of ongoing construction projectsResponsible for accurate and timely monthly financial reporting on assignedprojectsPerform continuous evaluation of project team members to quickly detectproblems and weaknesses and actively drive solutionsManages budget expenditures associated with contractual agreements withinthe project scope. Receives, approves, and processes contractor invoices,evaluates and resolves claims and disputes in coordination with executivemanagement, and approves contract payment certificatesManage, oversee, instruct, and approve scope of work by consultants,contractors and third parties; actively manages work towards achieving projectmilestones and project deliveryReviews proposed change orders to construction, procurement, andinstallation contracts for need, merit, and recommends appropriate course ofaction per department and agencyPromotes safety awareness and follows safety procedures to reduce oreliminate accidentsEnsure proper project close-out and handover to clientsProvide training, coaching, and guidance to the project team as they grow intheir project management experienceOversee recruitment, training, and mentorship of employees; support andencourage productivity and mentorship, including optimizing performance forimprovementTake a proactive role to further understand the industry and innovativetechnology and servicesTroubleshoot any issues/conflicts that may arisePerforms other job-related duties as assigned

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or relatedfield is preferred; or equivalent combination of education and relevantexperience preferred7 to 10 years of relatable project management experience including provenexperience in executing business plans, and managing financial performance ofassigned projectsProject scope ranging from $5 Million to $100 MillionWorking knowledge of Bluebeam, Procore, Microsoft Project & Office isrequiredLeadership attributes including, but and not limited to organizational andcritical thinking skills, the ability to analyze data and trends, professionalconduct at all timesHigh-stress tolerance; must be able to thrive in a high-pressure environmentA highly motivated self-starting, autonomous individual who can workindependently and set their own priorities, yet also function well as part ofthe overall teamMust be able to read and comprehend English
