Staff Civil Engineer

Davis & Floyd is currently seeking a highly motivated Staff Engineer to join our Civil Site Team in Greenville, South Carolina. We are a multi-disciplined firm that has been providing quality engineering services to our clients since 1954. This candidate will become part of a team that provides project consulting, site planning, design, permitting, and engineering services to a wide variety of clients. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following tasks:

• Perform all aspects of site design such as processing surveys, grading, drainage, stormwater management, water distribution and sewer collection, erosion control, SWPPP and reports, construction cost estimating
• Prepare site plans, designs and drawings
• Coordinate daily activities/scheduling of various assigned projects
• Interface with review agencies by phone, in writing and in person to communicate and establish project designs
• Conduct field studies and surveys to collect technical data
• Assist in the analysis of reports, maps, drawings, terrain, hydrological characteristics, and other topographical data to plan and design projects
• Prepare design computations and quality estimates
• Develop budgets, schedules and technical project specifications
• Assist senior level engineers with project design, project specifications, and inspections
• Provide necessary coordination and follow-up on the work to ensure quality standards are met
• Assist in preparation of presentation material for client meetings and public review sessions
• Execute additional duties and responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering strongly preferred
• 2-4 years applicable work experience with education emphasis in site development, grading, drainage, and stormwater management
• Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering exam (EIT certification)
• Ability to clearly communicate with staff
• Experience in Autodesk AutoCAD Civil 3D preferred
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record required
• A positive attitude and willingness to learn
