Structural Engineer

Job Description

The primary responsibility of this position is to provide engineering support to production activities, ensuring safety, quality, delivery, and cost targets are met. The role demands a strong understanding of rotorcraft structural systems and standard aeronautical structural installation design procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Support resolution of complex nonconformities on the Final Assembly Line.
  • Coordinate and review preparation of technical documents such as drawings, 3D models, CRs, and PPs.
  • Manage and support complex aircraft design modifications.
  • Lead design reviews and support customer-driven proposals.
  • Collaborate with Program Management, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain.
  • Mentor junior engineers and support team development.
  • Support troubleshooting of structural installations and ATP validation.
  • Contribute to process improvements and documentation updates.
  • Perform other duties and fulfill additional responsibilities as assigned.
  • Execute and coordinate advanced design engineering tasks supporting the Structures Systems & Interiors Design teams objectives.
  • Facilitate and lead high-level design reviews with customers, ensuring structural systems installations meet customer requirements.
  • Represent the Structures Systems & Interiors Design Office in configuration board meetings and technical exchanges.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve structural system challenges, serving as a technical resource.
  • Lead assigned design activities such as initial layouts and drawing reviews.
Essential Skills
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering (Master's preferred).
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in an engineering environment, preferably aerospace.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for aerospace engineering.
  • Effective communication ability across multiple technical areas and geographies.
  • Proficiency in CATIA and Microsoft Office, with SAP preferred.
  • Planning and organization skills.
  • Mentoring capability.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Ability to speak Italian (Preferred).
  • ITAR Cleared (Preferred).
Work Environment

The position involves working closely with the Design Engineering Supervisor and Manager to support the introduction of complex structural design changes into production. The environment encourages collaboration with various departments to ensure alignment with program requirements and schedules. Dress code is business casual.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $70.00/hr.
