Pay & Schedule
Training Pay: $27.88/hour
Standard Pay: $31.00/hour after assessment
Progression Pay: Up to $32.25/hour after 6 months | $33.28/hour after 4 years
Shift: Friday-Sunday, 5:00 AM - 5:30 PM (36 hours + 4 bonus hours = 40-hour paycheck)
Differential: $1/hour night shift premium (when applicable)
Employment Type: Direct Hire
What You'll Be Doing
- Perform a variety of industrial painting tasks including dry sanding, masking, stenciling, finish painting, sealing, and touch-ups
- Use and maintain spray painting equipment safely and effectively
- Inspect for defects (runs, sags, orange peel) and make necessary repairs
- Apply fillers like Bondo or icing with precision
- Work with team members to improve manufacturing processes
- Read blueprints, schematics, and work instructions accurately
- Maintain clean, safe work areas and uphold Wabtec's high-quality standards
- Rotate through multiple duties rather than sticking to just one task

What You Bring to the Booth
- Minimum 1 year of industrial or automotive paint experience or relevant vocational training
- Ability to work at heights up to 20 feet using aerial lifts
- Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and completing tasks on ladders
- Experience with electrostatic or conventional paint systems is a plus
- Strong safety mindset and a willingness to wear PPE
- High school diploma or GED required
- Strong attention to detail, quality-focused, and ready to grow
Bonus Points For
- Auto Body or I-CAR/ASE certifications
- Demonstrated leadership or training experience
- Experience working in continuous improvement or lean manufacturing environments
