Qualifications:
- Valid Texas Journeyman's Plumbing License
- Valid Texas Driver's License
Duties include but are not limited to the following:
- Expedite emergency work on plumbing.
- Assist in planning new construction projects.
- Inspect new construction.
- Perform necessary repairs, replacement of boilers, pumps and all other plumbing.
- Initiate necessary checks.
- Perform welding, cutting and fabrication on plumbing when necessary.
- Initiate purchase of supplies for assigned equipment.
- Assist in cataloging information on district plumbing equipment.
- Perform preventative maintenance and emergency service.
- Complete necessary work tickets on hours worked, job costs and associated information pertaining to work performed.
- Maintain all drains.
- Make gas system check as required by law.
- Make periodic checks and perform repairs on lift stations.
- Repair laundry and kitchen equipment as needed.
- Install and replace lab equipment.
- Maintain and repair lift stations as needed.
- Make any other repairs not covered by specific assignment.
- Service as supervisor over projects when crews are needed as required by coordinator of plumbing division.
- Maintain accurate inventory as needed.
- Report to the Maintenance Department's Coordinator of Plumbing.
Work Conditions:
- Work outside and inside; exposed to extreme temperatures, dust, fumes and odors. Exposure to mechanical, electrical and chemical hazards.
- Work around moving objects and vehicles.
- Maintain emotional control under stress.
- Moderate irregular hours.
- Works with frequent interruptions.
- Preparation of materials may involve the packing, moving and lifting of equipment and supplies.
