3pm-1am Ammonia Refrigeration and HVAC Technician

Our client is seeking a skilled 2nd Shift Line Mechanic – Ammonia & HVAC Technician to support production and facility operations by maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing equipment, utility systems, and refrigeration systems. This role plays a key part in ensuring consistent manufacturing performance and adherence to safety and food quality standards. Fluency in English and Spanish is essential for effective communication in a diverse workforce. Food and Beverage industry experience is REQUIRED. HVAC and Ammonia Refrigeration certifications are highly desired. Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production machinery and facility equipment
  
  
• Service and troubleshoot ammonia refrigeration systems, compressors, evaporators, and cooling towers
  
  
• Maintain and repair HVAC systems, boilers, pumps, and air handling units
  
  
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues to minimize downtime
  
  
• Conduct equipment setups, calibrations, and changeovers
  
  
• Monitor and adjust chemical levels in refrigeration and utility systems
  
  
• Use CMMS (MaintainX) to complete and document work orders
  
  
• Train operators on safe equipment use and basic troubleshooting
  
  
• Follow safety procedures, including ammonia handling and lockout/tagout
  
  
• Maintain compliance with GMPs and food safety standards
  
  
• Support production teams to meet operational goals
  
  

The essential functions of this role include:

wearing steel toe shoes

manual lifting up to 50lbs

standing for 9 hours at one time

working up to 5 hrs of overtime per week
