As an integral member of this team, you will contribute to CDM Smith's success by;
-Working as a Task Leader supporting site design projects nationwide, focusing on CTA, Metra, and other Chicago-area clients.
-You will manage technical aspects, ensuring accuracy and driving the technical vision of projects.
-Responsibilities include compliance with regulations and ensuring that firm policies are followed.
-The role also includes site inspections, proposal creation, and client meetings.
You will mentor junior staff, offering technical guidance and supervising their work.
-Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

-Bachelor's degree in Civil, Transportation, or Structural Engineering or related discipline.
-Certification as an Engineer in Training (EIT) or passing the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam in states where an EIT is not obtainable (within 18 months of hire or promotion or transfer).
-5 years of related experience. Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands.
-Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Preferred Qualifications:

-Strong background in civil-site design, preferably with clients like CTA, Metra, and/or Illinois Municipal roadway/highway design projects.
-Experience managing and delivering site design projects from initiation through final design.
-Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in conducting work in the following areas:, Site/civil designs, Developing project design criteria, alignments, grading plans, utility and drainage plans, construction plans, construction specifications, and cost estimates, Writing of technical reports, Assigning daily work, and mentoring engineers.
-In-depth understanding of site development principles such as; Site grading and drainage, Utility coordination, Utility design (water, sewer, etc.), Paving and grading, Erosion control and stormwater management, Green Infrastructure and Geotechnical considerations.
-Experience completing Hydrologic and Hydraulic analysis of drainage systems and design of stormwater management.
-Experience delivering site design projects from initiation through final design.
