DESCRIPTION OF WORK As a Corrections Maintenance Foreman with the Department of Corrections (DOC), you will utilize your vast knowledge and experience to oversee inmate work crews tasked with carrying out routine construction and maintenance activities within the correctional facility. You will demonstrate your keen sense of awareness as you guide inmates in such tasks as, lawn care, snow removal, janitorial services, and general maintenance. You will be responsible for planning and assigning daily schedules for inmates, as well as inspecting the quality of completed work. With the utmost safety, care, and responsibility, you will manage the issuance and inventory of materials and tools necessary for these tasks. Occasionally, you may also engage in or assist with semi-skilled and skilled work across various trades, such as carpentry, plumbing, painting, electrical work, refrigeration, masonry, steam-fitting, or welding.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment, 40 hour work week
- Work hours are 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM, Sunday - Thursday or 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM, Tuesday - Saturday. To be determined upon hire.
Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $46,986 (before taxes).
- This position is eligible for full benefits at age 50 or 55.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Four years of experience performing building maintenance, construction, or general trades work; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Additional Requirements:
- Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirement:
- You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
