Electrical Technician Job Description As an Electrical Technician, you will conduct, maintain, test, and repair electrical/electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems and components. You will apply your knowledge of electrical/electronic and mechanical principles to determine equipment malfunctions and utilize your skills to restore equipment to operation. Your role provides skilled electrical/electronic support to all areas of the company. Responsibilities Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical equipment including programmable logic controllers, power supplies, motor starters, frequency drives, sensors and gauges, and test equipment. Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment and perform scheduled maintenance repairs during machine service. Advise operators and line mechanics on operation procedures and requirements for safe handling of electrical/electronic and mechanical equipment. Inform management and line mechanics of potential electrical/mechanical problems and inherent dangers. Maintain company-required performance and maintenance records for identified equipment. Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service. Recommend spare parts and materials needed for inventory. Document and maintain daily paperwork in a timely manner. Assist maintenance personnel with technical troubleshooting. Comply with OSHA Safety, NEC, FDA, GMPs, HACCP food safety, and health rules. Help develop best practices/processes and training as needed. Understand and provide excellent customer service. Perform other duties as assigned or needed. Essential Skills Basic understanding of electrical symbols, drawings, and schematics. Basic AC/DC Electrical theory, including Ohm's law. Basic use of electrical test equipment such as DMM, amp meter, and probes. Ability to identify and understand components like contactors, sensors, drives, and overloads. Knowledge of wiring, conduit, and NEC code. Ability to troubleshoot AC/DC low voltage circuits. Skill in troubleshooting basic PLC I/O visually and with use of DMM. Competence in electrical troubleshooting, motors, VFD drives, and electrical devices. Ability to perform calibration and configuration of drives, transducers, and sensors. Ability to follow detailed written or oral instructions with minimal direction. Excellent organizational and communication skills. Ability to work effectively within a team environment and with external partners. Self-motivation and ability to achieve high impact in an unstructured environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in maintenance, bottling, filling, packaging, electrical troubleshooting, hydraulics, pneumatics, and electronics. Work Environment The team operates within four departments: juice extraction, processing, filling, and plastics. The work schedule is mostly 6 days a week, with 12-hour shifts from 6am to 6pm. There are two shifts available: 2nd shift from 2:00pm to 10:30pm, and 3rd shift from 10:00pm to 6:30am. Employees can expect overtime and will receive at least one day off per week. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of DEL REY, California. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $36.00/hr.
