Electrical Technician

Job DetailsDivision: Nucor Warehouse SystemsLocation: Vernon, CA, United StatesOther Available Locations: N/ACompensation Range: $ 24.95 - $30.33 per hour (based on experience) | plus production bonus |Basic Job Functions:Install and modify electrical machinery, equipment, and circuitry in industrial or commercial plants.Must know the following: Control Circuitry, 120/240/480 Volts Systems. 3-phase electrical.

Diagnose the cause of electrical or mechanical machine malfunctions and assess the job.Collaborate with an electrical engineer if needed to decrease excessive downtime.Perform routine preventive Maintenance.Ensure all electrical components adhere to standards.Mechanical experience would be preferred; ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on presses, engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, Safety rules, lockout/Tag out, and regulations.Maintains production and quality by ensuring the operation of machinery and mechanical equipment.Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.Be able to work on electrical control circuits, high voltage distribution panels 480v. Max. and overhead cranes.

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.Minimum Qualifications:1 year of experience as an industrial electrician in a manufacturing facility, or completion of an acredited industrial electrician technician schooling program.Experience with equipment maintenance, technical understanding, technical zeal, and others.Familiarity with drafting and understanding blueprints and schematics.Must be able to work any shift as required, overtime, weekends, and holidays.Preferred Qualifications:2-3 years of experience as an electrician in a manufacturing facility.Industrial maintenance experience, a plus.Bilingual - English and Spanish.
