DIVISION STATEMENT

The Commercial Flight Controls Division, headquartered in beautiful Ogden, Utah, is a global leader in aerospace flight controls.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Supplier Development Manager will facilitate continuous improvement initiatives and problem resolution of quality issues / opportunities with suppliers and monitor suppliers' performance against contractual obligations, scorecards, and key performance indicators. Will approve suppliers recommended by Procurement / Supply Chain Team.

Scope/ Supervision and Interaction:

Does Not Have Direct Reports

Will collaborate with supply chain management, quality, and engineering teams ensuring customer requirements are met.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for leading supplier site audits and/or coordinate supplier audits with a cross functional team to determine appropriateness and quality of supplier's product
  • Must be able to travel domestically and internationally 25-50% of time
  • Will initiate vendor quality management and process improvements including evaluating process capability, tracking delivery, output, and reporting of supplier performance including pHConnect metrics
  • Collaborates with the business unit or division to establish preferred supplier selection criteria based on evaluations of supplier price, quality, delivery, certifications, and compliance with governmental procurement regulations
  • Issues and oversees timely completion of supplier corrective and preventive actions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree (required) in business, engineering, or materials management
  • Minimum of 5 - 7 years supplier development experience
  • Possess analytical and technical skills required to understand business practices
  • Must have advanced computer skills and be able to understand electronic processing
  • Must have implemented PPAP and Quality System Improvements in the supply base
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills for effective interface with all internal and external contacts
  • Must be an innovator and embrace Lean Enterprise principles and practices
  • Six Sigma Black Belt preferred
