As AtkinsRealis positions itself for growth in the Manitoba marketplace, we are looking for a Mechanical Engineer-in-Training.

As a Mechanical Engineer-in-Training, you will work with AtkinsRealis Mechanical Engineering Design Group to provide detailed engineering for building services projects for commercial, institutional and industrial clients.

Your role within the team:

To perform this role successfully, the individual will be responsible for but not limited to the following:

  • Assist in development and management of mechanical engineering design deliverables for assigned projects, including investigations, report writing, design and construction administration.
  • Ensure the quality and consistency, accuracy, and neatness of mechanical engineering and deliverables as part of corporate QA/QC program.
  • Perform site investigations safely including travelling to site (including driving), walking around construction sites, carrying a ladder or other items (approximately 35lbs) around site and climbing ladder to access ceiling space, lowering self to observe mechanical services low to ground, and committing to safety regulations and requirements.
  • Participate in local and corporate sustainability initiatives to positively advance both corporate and industry developments.
  • Use software tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, Carrier HAP, and Microsoft Office to prepare deliverables as required.
  • Grow in role and take on more responsibilities as individual capabilities, knowledge and experience increase.

The ideal candidate:

  • University Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Registered, or the ability to be registered, as an EIT with EGBC.
  • 0-3 years of relevant building systems design experience.
  • Strong desire to grow their career in Buildings Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience in HVAC, plumbing and fire protection design for buildings, including utilization of applicable codes, standards, and design tools, is an asset.
  • Strong analytical, communication and critical thinking skills to develop a solution and be able to communicate it effectively with teammates, other disciplines, subcontractors, project managers and clients.

Expected compensation for this role is between $60,000 - $75,000 annually. Base salaries are determined according to several parameters like skills, experience, location, and potential impact on the role. Internal and external competitiveness are also taken into account in our offers.
