Position Summary: We are currently seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Roadway Engineer to join our transportation team in Orlando, FL. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the design and analysis of roadway projects in accordance with FDOT and local agency standards. This role offers the opportunity to work on a variety of infrastructure projects and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-impact solutions. Key Responsibilities: Design and prepare roadway plans, construction documents, and specifications for transportation projects. Perform geometric design, horizontal and vertical alignments, and cross-section development. Ensure designs comply with FDOT standards, local regulations, and AASHTO guidelines. Coordinate and communicate with clients, consultants, regulatory agencies, and in-house teams. Support project managers with cost estimates, schedules, and progress reports. Review and incorporate survey, utility, and drainage information into roadway designs. Perform quality control checks and ensure adherence to project requirements. Assist with permitting and plan submittals as required. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline. 5-10 years of experience in roadway design (FDOT project experience strongly preferred). Professional Engineering (PE) license. Proficient in MicroStation and GEOPAK/OpenRoads Designer (ORD); AutoCAD Civil 3D is a plus. Familiarity with FDOT design standards and procedures. Strong technical writing, analytical, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a collaborative team environment. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with local agencies in Florida (FDOT, municipalities, counties). Working knowledge of permitting and regulatory approval processes. Familiarity with utility coordination, signing and marking, and traffic control plans.
