Job Description Summary As an Electrical Product Definition Engineer (Circuit Board Designer) you'll be part of a team of electrical and mechanical engineers developing high-reliability electrical circuit boards for the aerospace industry and beyond. You will be a member of an Integrated Product Development Team & be responsible for completing on time designs through final qualification and production release. Also, in this role you will work directly with manufacturing and suppliers and leverage their feedback into new designs. Essential Responsibilities - In this role you will create detailed layouts, fabrication and assembly drawings/models primarily using Siemens Xpedition, PADS and NX. You will interact closely with engineers of other functions including Electrical, Mechanical, and Manufacturing to collaborate on new designs. The Principal Duties & Responsibilities will include the following: Overall ownership and accountability of product definition for assigned projects from launch through production. Create Schematics and circuit board layouts for Single-Sided, Double-Sided, Multilayer, Flex and Rigid Flex. Generate / review parts for library use. Create all associated drawings for electrical portion of the design package and lead drawing reviews. Ensure proper configuration management on documents. Work within the guidelines of: o Applicable GE Policies & Procedures o Unison and Industry Standards (IPC) o Product Definition Operating Procedures o Customer Specifications o Government and Commercial Standards Evaluate and influence new and revised Engineering Standards and Product Definition Operating Procedures. Ensure all interface characteristics between components are established and agreed upon by component owners of mating / interfacing parts. Concurrently manage multiple projects monitoring progress and quality and ensure schedule requirements are met. Develop low-cost solutions and meet unit cost targets. Perform tolerance stack-up analysis. Have a thorough understanding of Engineering Drawing Practices ASME Y14.100. Interpret and clarify customer technical requirements. Define and maintain technical compliance to customer requirements. Develop design concepts for technical proposals. Legacy product improvements and manufacturing support. Internal research & development. Resolution of field issues.

Qualifications/Requirements Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent (or High School Diploma/GED with at least 7 years of Design experience) Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required Desired Characteristics - Strong oral and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal and leadership skills. Proficient in use of Xpedition. Proficient in use of PADS. Familiar with DX Designer. (NX or other MCAD Tools and PCB Design Tools) Familiar with HyperLynx. Working knowledge of the IPC standards. Experience with multi-layer PCB layouts. Experience with surface mount digital board design. Experience with high voltage, high current layouts. Ability to manage electronic data files in a structured database environment. Web based knowledge, word processing, and electronic spreadsheet / presentation skills. Ability to influence and seamlessly work cross-functionally in a matrix organization. Able to communicate with all levels of internal and external customer organizations, including upper management.

The pay range for this position is $10000.00 - $130000.00/hr.
