QA Volumetric Supervisor will oversee a team of 10 techs. They will be responsible for overseeing and scheduling inspection activities to support key events at Quonset Point. Successful candidates will perform leadership duties throughout the facility which will include verifying safe working conditions and habits, verifying qualifications, ATA, and setting expectations. Candidates should be familiar with Quality Control systems, Electric Boat procedures applicable to the work they are performing, and Quality Department Instructions. Candidates must work in a collaborative environment to meet all company and organizational goals.
All successful candidates will be required to attend, but not limited to, all safety, trade, and process improvements meetings. QA Supervisors are required to work with the trades to accomplish priority work with first time quality in mind. Strong and timely communication skills are required. They must be accountable for themselves and their team.
A self-starter and a highly motivated person to work in a fast paced environment and manage multiple priorities will be essential.
Accurate documentation, recorded keeping and archiving along with verifying previous status of work for completion is a critical job function. Verifying all inspector job areas are safe and ready to be worked prior to the start of their crews start time. Work with the trades to schedule support or priority jobs.
QualificationsRequired:
- 4+ years of Quality Assurance experience.
- 2 years of UT (Ultrasonic) Shear wave inspection experience.
- Current/Previous UT Level II certification.
- Prior experience with SubSafe, DSS-SOC, and FBW
- High School Diploma/GED
- Willingness to work extended shifts and light business travel
- Must be available to work all shifts
Preferred :
- Previous supervisory / leadership experience
- MDU training
- Previous experience with process improvement
- Previous military / Navy experience is desirable
- Additional preference given for Vocational, Technical and Community Colleges or Apprentice programs
- Exposure to Electric Boats learning management system
- Proactive management approach
- Knowledge of Quality Assurance documents and processes including the ships certification process
- Ability to interpret technical manuals, shipyard procedures, test documents, blueprints, and diagrams
- Basic mathematical skills
