- Conduct field surveys of telecom infrastructure, including utility poles, fiber routes, and right-of-way conditions.
- Use IKE or similar platforms (e.g., SPIDA, O-Calc, GIS tools) to collect and document field data.
- Develop 'Make Ready' engineering designs to support fiber and broadband deployment.
- Interpret telecom construction standards and apply them to field conditions.
- Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and permitting teams to ensure design accuracy and compliance.

- Associates Degree in Electrical Power Technology, Telecommunications, or a related field.
- 13 years of experience in telecom field work or infrastructure design.
- Familiarity with 'Make Ready' processes and NESC standards.
- Experience with IKE or similar data collection and design platforms.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently in the field and collaboratively in the office.
- Experience with 3rd Party Make Ready - telecom experience.
- Associate's degree in Electrical Power Technology or similar engineering degree preferred.
- Broadband design or someone with OSP design experience is great.
- Familiarity with the National Joint Utilities Notification System (NJUNS) is preferred but not required.
This position involves 50% fieldwork and 50% office work, with travel to job sites such as Buffalo, Messina, and Binghamton. The ideal candidate will gain initial design experience while shadowing a team member and then independently survey and design projects. The company offers a vehicle, daily food allowance, and accommodation when working over two hours away from Syracuse. Pay is competitive and drive time is compensated.
