District Recruitment for the following parishes:

Acadia, Evangeline, Iberia, Lafayette, St Landry, St Martin, St Mary, and Vermilion Parish.

The purpose of this position is to operate a variety of heavy equipment for the purposes of road/bridge construction and maintenance. This position is located in DISTRICT 03 of the Department of Transportation and Development and reports directly to a Highway Foreman 1 or Highway Foreman 2. The incumbent must be self-motivated and be able to perform duties with minimal supervision and able to interpret unforeseen conditions as they may arise. The incumbent will participate in appropriate DOTD structured training programs and attend all continuing education classes and conferences deemed necessary to facilitate the performance of required tasks.

Career Progression: This Position may be filled as a MEO 1, MEO 2, or MEO 1/Heavy
Compensation: MEO-1 is $16.06 /hourly ; this job title receives Premium Pay in the amount of $1.00/hour for all hours worked. Additionally, a 10% base pay increase will be granted upon attainment of permanent status. MEO-2 is $17.18/hourly ; this job title receives Premium Pay in the amount of $1.00/hour for all hours worked. Additionally, a 10% base pay increase will be granted upon attainment of permanent status. MEO-1/HEAVY is $21.05/hourly .
