AHF Products has a job opportunity for a Dogwood Press Operator to be located in Somerset, KY. Reporting to the Production Superintendent, this position is required to load and unload the Dogwood Press and oven; perform PMs and setup on for all equipment in the Dogwood Press area; stack lamellas onto a pallet and divide the layers with sticks; work in a hot environment year-round (press and oven run at temperatures 385 degrees or above); perform quality checks to ensure product meets specifications; and work any other area in the plant as needed when the Dogwood Press is not running production.

JOB DUTIES:

• Always follow all safety guidelines in order to eliminate accidental injury.
• Maintain property, plant, and equipment to support and improve the safe production and performance of operations.
• Participate in Continuous Improvement and provide suggestions to improve processes and participate in team projects.
• Load lamellas into the oven racks and feed the racks into the conveyor oven.
• Load the oven racks onto the cart at the oven outfeed and transfer them to the press.
• Load and unload lamellas at the press.
• Stack lamellas into bundles with sticks placed between each layer.
• Rotate between the Oven Loader, Oven Unloader, Press Loader, and Lamella Stacker positions.
• Complete the accounting load tickets accurately.
• Clean the area of waste material as appropriate.
• Perform quality checks and document on the provided checklist.
• Lifting requirement not to exceed 50 pounds.
• Perform any other tasks as assigned.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

No Diploma or GED is required.

The ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

The ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

The ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Able to follow established policies and procedures.

Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Able to demonstrate practical problem-solving skills.

Able to work independently as well as in a team environment on assigned projects/tasks and report to supervision the status of each as needed.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Frequently push, pull, carry, and lift up to 50lbs.
