Executive Summary: HRUCKUS seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer for a role in San Antonio, Texas.

Position Description: The Senior Electrical Engineer will lead the design and implementation of innovative, energy-efficient power and lighting distribution systems focusing on sustainability. The Senior Electrical Engineer will oversee projects from inception to completion, ensuring high-quality standards and alignment with our clients core values. In this role, the Senior Electrical Engineer will collaborate closely with a dedicated team, manage project development, and make a lasting impact by delivering transformative solutions that exceed client expectations. As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will lead and supervise CNG team members as they perform their tasks and participate in budgeting, scheduling, and staff management.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assumes the role of Engineer of Record for the electrical discipline.
  • Provides overall direction to the design team, from inception to completion, on a project-specific basis.
  • Designs branch circuit distribution systems for power and lighting in commercial facilities.
  • Designs the overall power distribution system.
  • Performs calculations to support system designs.
  • Performs Construction Administration (CA) tasks, reviews submittals/shop drawings, responds to RFIs, and attends CA meetings.
  • Conducts site visits to evaluate field installations and perform field observations.
  • Manages assigned projects, including coordination and/or direction for the design team, from inception to completion on a project-specific basis.
  • Plans, schedules, conducts, and/or coordinates detailed phases of assigned project work while ensuring adherence to quality standards across all projects.
  • Lead design and construction meetings.
  • Mentors junior team members and assigns tasks to design staff.
  • Provides periodic, objective, and comprehensive employee check-ins in support of Annual Performance Reviews.
  • Prepares and monitors contracts, fee proposals, and contract negotiations.
  • Collaborates with Business Development to build relationships and foster repeat business.
  • Performs other duties, tasks, and special projects as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree from an accredited institution.
  • Current Professional Engineering License.
  • 5+ years of experience as a Licensed Professional Engineer.
  • Ability to obtain Professional Licensure in the State of Texas.
  • 10+ years of experience in Electrical Design, specifically in the Municipal/Aviation, Education, Healthcare, and Commercial Office sectors.
  • 7+ years of experience managing MEP Design projects.
  • 3+ years of Project Management experience.
  • 3+ years of Supervisory experience directly overseeing an MEP design team.
  • A valid Texas Drivers License with an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) and background check is required.
