Job Title: Sr. Superintendent - Multifamily Construction
Job Description
We are seeking a highly experienced Sr. Superintendent specializing in multifamily construction to support a General Contractor client on a project located in Fairfax, VA. This role demands a leader who can manage the complexities of a construction site, ensuring the highest standards in quality, safety, and efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage all activities on the construction site, ensuring efficient use of materials, tools, equipment, and labor.
- Coordinate job site logistics, scheduling, quality control (Level II or III), safety, and field office operations, while maintaining high morale.
- Manage the coordination of field employees, including Foremen, Field Engineers, Assistant Superintendents, and Superintendents.
- Direct subcontractor activities and ensure proper coordination among subcontractor foremen.
- Develop and update project schedules, including baseline project schedules and two-week look-ahead schedules.
- Conduct daily inspections to identify potential issues and develop resolutions, implementing a robust Quality Control Program.
- Obtain competitive pricing for rentals and manage the rental and termination processes.
- Perform safety inspections, conduct weekly toolbox talks, verify the M.S.D.S. system, and install necessary safety signage.
- Prepare daily reports, manage time sheets, issue purchase orders, and maintain a purchase order log.
- Provide on-the-job training for field personnel and attend both in-house and external training programs.
Essential Skills
- 10 years of experience as a Superintendent, with specialization in multifamily construction.
- Experience working with General Contractors.
- Degree in a related field (an Associate's degree is acceptable).
- Subcontract management and construction supervision expertise.
- Proven leadership skills.
- Completion of a 10-hour OSHA training course.
- CPR Certification.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in construction management and commercial construction.
- Renovation experience and knowledge of ground-up construction processes.
Work Environment
The position is 100% onsite at the project location. You will be part of a large, well-known construction company in Montgomery County, known for great tenure and high pay, including market increases for all employees. The role requires a commitment to maintaining a safe and efficient work environment, with a focus on delivering high-quality construction projects.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $130000.00 - $210000.00/yr.
