The Long Products Division, Steel of West Virginia, has an immediate opening for a Machine/Roll Shop Foreman to oversee operations and projects for the Machine/Roll Shop Departments.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the projects in Machine Shop/Roll Shop daily
- Using work order system to prioritize jobs and delegate employees for the jobs
- Communicate daily with Supervisor regarding Mill schedules and ongoing projects
- Keep track of inventory to fulfill needs of the Mills
- Responsible for monthly needs of rolls needed for Mills
- Assist with contracting out new rolls if needed from vendor
- Assist with contracting out repair work for Mill with vendor
- Responsible for weekly timesheets of employees in both departments
- Scheduling overtime for both Machine Shop and Roll Shop
- Advising Supervisor of materials that need ordered
- Assist with tooling needed on a monthly basis for Machine/Roll Shops
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Safety: Foremen are responsible for driving all components of "Take Control of Safety" to their teams (High Risk Exposures, PSIF Initiatives, PSIF/SIF Management, etc.)
Toolbox Talks (Safety Alerts and other safety discussions)
Exposure Assessments and Red Tap Challenges
Enforcing and coaching of Cardinal Life-saving Rules
Strong mechanical aptitude
Proven leadership and supervision skills
