POSITION OVERVIEW

We are currently seeking a dedicated Safety Manager to join our team. This is a crucial role in ensuring successful, compliant safety programs in construction and general industry.

This role involves conducting risk assessments, training employees, managing safety staff, and ensuring a safe working environment to minimize workplace hazards and incidents. The Safety Manager will also oversee a team of safety personnel, including Safety leads, and Safety professionals, to ensure compliance with the company and regulatory safety standards across all operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Safety Program Development & Compliance

  • Develop, implement, and enforce safety policies and procedures in compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory agencies.
  • Ensure company operations align with industry safety standards.
  • Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify hazards and implement corrective actions.
  • Maintain and update safety documentation, including policies, procedures, training records, and incident reports.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses, determining root causes and implementing corrective/preventive measures.
  • Stay up to date on changes in OSHA, ANSI, NFPA, and other relevant safety standards.
  • Coordinate with regulatory agencies and participate in safety audits, inspections, and compliance reviews.

Training & Employee Engagement

  • Design and conduct safety training programs and promote a culture of safety awareness through toolbox talks, meetings, and incentive programs.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to employees and management regarding safety procedures and best practices.

Safety Team Leadership & Development

  • Supervise and mentor Safety Leads and Safety Professionals across multiple projects or facilities.
  • Provide ongoing training and professional development for the safety team to enhance their knowledge and skills.

Site Inspections & Hazard Control

  • Perform routine job site inspections to identify and mitigate safety hazards.
  • Ensure that all employees and subcontractors adhere to safety regulations.

Emergency Preparedness & Response

  • Develop and implement emergency response plans, including fire evacuation, medical response, and chemical spill protocols.
  • Conduct emergency drills and train employees on emergency procedures.
  • Serve as a liaison between the company and emergency response teams in case of workplace incidents.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

5+ years of experience leading and developing safety programs.

5+ years of safety leadership experience.

Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Previous experience in construction safety or a related field.

Ability to effectively communicate safety concepts and procedures to individuals at all levels of the organization.

A valid driver's license is required.

Ability to travel to and work on construction sites with a variety of environmental conditions.

CSP/GSP/ASP/CHST certification preferred.

Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
