We own close to 9,000 acres with over 4,000 acres of it being cropland. We also rent a little over 500 acres of cropland. Our main crop is spring wheat and durum with canola as a smaller rotational crop. Oats and sudan grass are seeded also as a rotation which are hayed. Silage corn is planted to be chopped which cleans fields for the following year. Almost all the equipment utilizes a GPS system with auto-steer to help minimize the risk of error in the fields. Job duties will include but not limited to: Maintaining equipment in working order, driving semi-truck from the local fertilizer plant to the field, hauling water with the spray trailer to the field, spraying noxious weeds, cutting, raking, and baling hay, hauling grain to local storage locations, driving grain trucks during harvest from combine to grain storage, cleaning and maintaining infrastructure assets on the farm. Employee will need to do seeding and combining. Qualities to do these job duties include good communication, quick learner, being an independent worker, and having a good work ethic even when not under supervision. Complete other farm duties as assigned related to growing these crops. Complete routine repairs and maintenance on equipment. Per state regulations, employer is exempt from a commercial CDL requirement for farm trucking. No commercial or heavy truck driving is required.
Job requires extensive sitting, walking, pushing, pulling, repetitive movements, frequent stooping and exposure to extreme outdoor temperatures. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Job requires a regular drivers license. Require 3 months experience.
