DESCRIPTION

Michael Baker International is actively seeking a Roadway Engineer to join our Transportation Team in Jacksonville, Florida . We are looking for a motivated and driven professional ready to support our growing Highway Design Group and advance their career with a national leader in engineering, planning, and consulting services.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead and assist in the design, development, and preparation of roadway construction plans.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including task leaders, project managers, and office leaders to deliver high-quality solutions.
  • Develop conceptual designs and provide technical input during business development efforts.
  • Participate in marketing pursuits, including attending meetings, preparing technical content for proposals, and drafting responses to RFPs.
  • Ensure designs meet applicable standards and regulations, especially for FDOT and local agency projects.
  • Support 3D modeling and visualization efforts using tools such as Bentley OpenRoads and AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Mentor junior staff and contribute to knowledge sharing and team development.
PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience working on roadway design projects (FDOT project experience preferred).
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of Florida, or ability to obtain one promptly.
  • Proficiency with Bentley MicroStation or comparable design software.
  • Demonstrated success delivering roadway projects for FDOT, municipalities, counties, or similar agencies.
  • Experience with design-build project delivery is highly desirable.

COMPENSATION

The approximate compensation range for this position is $97,598 to $140,924. This compensation range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation is dependent upon factors such as education, qualifications, experience, skillset, and physical work location.
