Construction Coordinator

Performs technical fieldwork inspecting, coordinating, and monitoring airport construction projects. Inspects all project phases, with a focus on pavement construction; observes all on-site fieldwork in order to assist the Project Manager/Engineer in determining if the work is proceeding in accordance with the contract documents. Maintains detailed project administrative records; participates in contractor, progress, pre-final, and final inspection meetings, as well as pre-construction/job conferences and other project-related meetings. Interacts with government agencies, contractors, and the general public.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Graduation from high school or an equivalent recognized certification; minimum of five (5) years of project supervision experience in skilled road, bridge, drainage, underground distribution and collection systems, traffic signalization, work zone safety, pavement marking and striping, landscaping installation, and maintenance OR building construction.

Equivalencies:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering and one (1) year of related experience
  • Unrelated Bachelor's Degree/related Associate's Degree and three (3) years of related experience
  • Unrelated Associate's Degree and four (4) years of related experience.

PREFERENCE FOR: Construction Materials Technician Certified at Level III for soils, asphalt and concrete by the National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET) or an equivalent by another state/nationally-recognized organization American Concrete Institute/Florida Department of Transportation/Construction Training Qualification Program (ACI/FDOT/CTQP); three (3) years of supervisory experience in airport or highway paving construction; two (2) years of experience working within the Air Operations Area (AOA) on 14 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Part 139 Airports and compliance with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Advisory Circular (AC) 150-5370.

Must be able to lift 10 pounds. Valid Florida Driver's License and PBC Risk Management Department driving history approval prior to appointment.

Requires successful completion of DHS Criminal History Records Check and Security Threat Assessment prior to appointment and the ability to maintain these clearances as a condition of employment.
