Loader Operator

Loader Job Description The Loader plays a vital role in ensuring the efficient movement and handling of heavy steel beams and products in the yard. The Loader will be responsible for operating forklifts to load and unload steel products onto trucks, cutting materials with a band saw, and maintaining a clean work area. This position requires adherence to safety protocols and effective communication with team members. Responsibilities Operate forklifts to move heavy steel products within the yard and load them onto trucks. Ensure the accurate and safe loading of steel products onto trucks for delivery. Operate a band saw to cut materials to specified dimensions. Maintain a clean and organized work area to facilitate efficient operations. Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment. Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth operations. Assist with other yard duties as needed. Essential Skills Experience running a forklift and moving non-palletized loads. Ability to lift and move heavy steel products, lifting up to 50-75 lbs. Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety. Good communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment. Previous experience operating band saws is preferred. Work Environment The Loader will work in an industrial metal-bending and fabrication shop with outdoor yard duties. Training will be provided on the Day Shift, with regular hours on the Swing Shift from 2:00 pm to 12:30 am, Monday through Thursday. Day Shift hours are from 5:30 am to 2:00 pm or 7:30 am to 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday. The environment includes working with various material handling equipment and requires adaptability to weather conditions. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $29.00/hr.
