Business Development Manager Location: Washington, DC Industry: Architecture, Engineering & Construction (AEC) Pay: $85,000 base + commission (based on KPIs) + 2% of contract value post-development Benefits: Dental, Vision, Medical, 401(k) About Our Client: Addison Group is partnering with a highly regarded, design-focused AEC firm known for its award-winning, high-profile projects across a range of markets. With a collaborative culture and a strong presence in the D.C. market, this client is seeking a driven Business Development Manager to expand their impact and visibility across both established and emerging sectors. Job Description: We're seeking an experienced Business Development Manager with deep ties to the AEC industry. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with firm leadership, designers, and marketers to strategically grow the company's client base and project portfolio. Key Responsibilities: Develop and execute strategic business development initiatives aligned with long-term firm goals Identify new markets and opportunities by tracking trends, conducting research, and monitoring competitors Maintain and grow client relationships through meetings, events, and consistent outreach Lead the pursuit process, including go/no-go decisions, proposal development, and presentation strategy Collaborate with internal teams to ensure firm positioning reflects capabilities and brand identity Manage and update CRM systems with lead tracking, pipeline projections, and performance analytics Represent the firm at conferences, speaking engagements, and industry events Qualifications: 5-10 years of experience in business development, marketing, or client relations within the AEC or similar industries Demonstrated success in generating new business and strengthening client relationships Strong understanding of design services, project lifecycles, and proposal processes Proficiency with CRM software such as Ajera, Cosential, or similar platforms Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with proven ability to lead strategic conversations Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Architecture, Interior Design, or a related field required; advanced degree or certifications are a plus Additional Details: Schedule: Hybrid (3 days onsite: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday; remote Monday and Friday) Office Location: Centrally located above the Farragut North Metro stop Core Hours: 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM (with flexibility as needed) Background Check: Not required Interview Process: Virtual interview with hiring team Final in-person panel interview with executive leadership Perks: Generous commission and performance-based bonuses Comprehensive benefits package (details available upon request) Stunning office location with easy Metro access Supportive, collaborative leadership and design teams Opportunity to impact high-profile, design-forward projects across diverse sectors Addison Group is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
