Crate Builder Job Description The Crate Builder is responsible for constructing durable wooden crates and packaging structures used to transport and protect manufactured goods. This role requires precision, physical stamina, and basic carpentry skills to ensure products are safely secured for shipment. Responsibilities Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, or specifications to determine crate dimensions and materials. Measure, cut, and assemble wooden components using hand and power tools. Build crates tailored to the size, weight, and fragility of the product. Apply protective coatings or treatments to wood when necessary. Safely operate equipment such as saws, nail guns, drills, and forklifts. Inspect finished crates for quality, durability, and compliance. Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to safety protocols. Collaborate with shipping and production teams to meet daily output goals. Perform repairs or modifications to damaged crates as needed. Essential Skills Hand tool proficiency Crate building expertise General labor skills Tape measure accuracy Power tool operation Carpentry knowledge Material handling Additional Skills & Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent 1+ years of experience in carpentry, woodworking, or crate building Ability to read and interpret technical drawings Familiarity with woodworking tools and safety procedures Physical ability to lift and maneuver materials up to 50 lbs Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills Basic math skills for measuring and calculating dimensions Why Work Here? Employees are expected to operate within this timeframe while adhering to safety protocols and maintaining a clean workspace. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Peachtree City, Georgia. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $16.25 - $18.00/hr.
