Insight Global is looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer specializing in tooling, youll work with a team of engineers and global manufacturing partners to design and develop custom tools and fixtures that help bring new electronic products to life. Your work will directly support the launch of new products and ensure they can be built efficiently and at scale.
What Youll Do:
-Design and build custom tools, jigs, and test fixtures used in high-volume electronics manufacturing.
-Turn ideas and requirements into 3D CAD models, detailed drawings, and documentation.
-Work closely with hardware, design, and manufacturing teams to make sure tools are effective and easy to produce.
-Choose the right materials and manufacturing methods (like CNC machining, molding, or sheet metal).
-Analyze how parts fit and work together to ensure precision and reliability.
-Collaborate with global suppliers to build and test tools for production.
-Suggest new technologies to improve tool quality and reduce costs.
-Manage parts lists, design changes, and documentation using tools like Agile PLM or Windchill.
Pay Rate: $58-$61

Skills and Requirements
- A degree in Mechanical Engineering (B.S. or M.S.).
-57+ years of experience designing tools and fixtures, especially for electronics manufacturing.
- Creo/ProEngineer), and knowledge of GD&T and tolerance analysis.
-Familiarity with design for manufacturing (DFM) and design for testing (DFT).
-CNC, molding with a focus on designnot hands-on fabrication. -Experience with automated test setups or tools that use sensors or software.
-Experience working with Sheet Metal
-Knowledge of shock, vibration, or EMC testing.
-Familiarity with liquid cooling systems.
-Basic scripting (like Python) for automating tests or data collection.
-Experience with PLM systems like Propel, Agile, or Windchill. null
