This is an exciting time to work for Amarillo College! We are seeking our next Success Center Supervisor - Moore County Campus who will be all-in on our mission and who is responsible for overseeing all operations, personnel, and services offered through the Moore County Campus Success Center. This role plays a key part in advancing student academic success by coordinating tutoring services, collaborating with faculty, supervising staff, and implementing strategies to support learning and retention. The Supervisor ensures that all Success Center services are student-focused, data-driven, and aligned with Amarillo College's commitment to excellence.

Qualifications

EDUCATION:

Required: Bachelor's Degree.

Preferred: Master's degree in Education, Student Services, Curriculum & Instruction, or a related field.

EXPERIENCE:

Required: Three (3) years of experience in teaching, tutoring, instructional support, or a related academic setting.

Preferred: Two (2) or more years of supervisory experience, preferably in a higher education or student support services environment.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

Provide day-to-day supervision and leadership for the Success Center at the Moore County Campus, ensuring a welcoming and productive learning environment.

Hire, train, schedule, supervise, and evaluate part-time staff and tutors in alignment with college policies and CRLA (College Reading and Learning Association) standards.

Collaborate with faculty in disciplines such as Biology, English, and Math to coordinate embedded tutoring support and faculty outreach.

Provide direct academic support and tutoring to students as needed.

Lead the development and delivery of tutor training (both in-person and virtual) and ensure tutors' progress through CRLA certification levels.

Promote the Success Center's services across the AC community through presentations, outreach, and digital marketing, including oversight of social media and web presence.

Coordinate student engagement and outreach activities related to Amarillo College's Tutoring for Success Policy.

Participate in campus-wide events and student engagement functions, including Badger Beginnings, High School Senior Day, and other recruitment and retention efforts.

Collect, track, and analyze student learning outcomes and assessment data to evaluate effectiveness and recommend program improvements.

Prepare reports and share data with supervisors to support institutional planning and decision-making.

Monitor and manage the Success Center budget, including projections, expenditures, and procurement of supplies.

Ensure operational efficiency by regularly reviewing procedures and implementing improvements based on assessment and supervisor feedback.

Collaborate with the Executive Director of Student Learning Support and the Assistant Director of Academic Services for Moore County Campus on strategic planning and student success initiatives.

Foster a culture of care and support, embodying the values and mission of Amarillo College in all interactions.

Perform other work-related duties as required.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Strong leadership and team management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks, delegate responsibilities, and support staff development.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills for engaging with students, faculty, staff, and community partners.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments and teams.

Demonstrated organizational skills with a strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Proficiency in collecting and interpreting data related to student outcomes, tutoring effectiveness, and academic performance.

Experience designing and facilitating training and professional development aligned with CRLA standards.

Solid understanding of student support services and tutoring strategies that promote persistence, retention, and academic success.

Familiarity with instructional methods in key subject areas such as Math, English, and the Sciences.

Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment in decision-making.

Working knowledge of budget management and supply purchasing procedures.

Commitment to continuous improvement and innovation in service delivery.

Technological competence with student information systems, learning management systems (LMS), and office productivity tools.

Ability to represent the Success Center and Amarillo College positively to diverse audiences, including students, parents, and professionals.

Salary: Amarillo College follows a lag pay strategy, with starting offers typically between the minimum and midpoint of the pay grade, rarely reaching the maximum to support long-term growth within each position.

Pay grade 13 Amarillo College Pay Grades (salary is determined by Human Resources based on education, work experience and internal comparisons).

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to travel between offices and buildings, and requires the ability to lift, carry, push, pull and/or maneuver office supplies as needed.

Working Conditions: Must be willing to work a flexible schedule (days, nights, weekends, holidays, and varying events if necessary).

Work Environment: This position operates in a professional office environment, routinely uses standard office equipment (i.e. computers, phones, copy and fax machines, filing cabinets) and is in a high traffic area with continual interruptions. Software commonly used includes Microsoft Office, Colleague, and various other educational applications. Work may also be performed outside of the office and with little to no supervision.
