Electrical Engineer

Job Responsibilities

Westinghouse seeks an Engineer in our Warrendale, PA facility to work as part of a team for leadership and standardization of components used in instrumentation and control systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and supporting the application of standard components used in both safety and non-safety related I&C systems including the following:

• Serve as a component engineer for standard electrical, electronic and mechanical components including identification of component specifications, resolution of supply issues and support to engineering, manufacturing operations, quality, testing and supply chain management.
• Identity and promote process improvements and enhancements to increase quality of standard components, reducing rework, reducing costs and improving cycle time.
• Develop and maintain databases and tools for managing standard components, processing part requests, evaluating trends, and reporting progress.
• Support efforts to maintain the Parts Specification List
• Provide training, coaching and/or consultation to various personnel on the application of standard components
• Support drawing changes to improve manufacturability

Specific Desired Skills

Required Skills:

• BS degree in Electronic Technology, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent
• Proven experience in designing data reports
• In depth knowledge of electronic component specifications, manufacturers and suppliers
• Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills

Desired Skills:

• Experience in design or manufacture of I&C systems
• Knowledge of PCB fabrication processes
• Experience in MRP/ERP material masters
• Working knowledge and design experience with MS Access and SQL Server databases
