HVAC Mechanic

HKA is working on behalf of Jacobs, and this role is to support Jacobs work through HKA

Responsibilities:

• Installs, services, and repairs environmental-control systems in office buildings and other commercial/industrial settings.
• Conduct regular and preventive maintenance on HVAC systems, includes cleaning, lubricating, and inspecting components.
• Strong computer skills required for troubleshooting and correcting digital control software.
• Joins tubing or pipes to various refrigerating units with Pro-press, unions, solder, and brazing.
• Observes pressure and vacuum, gauges, and adjusts controls to ensure proper operation.
• Troubleshoot joints and connects for leaks, using gauges or soap and water solution.
• Ability to do minor insulation repairs.
• Troubleshoot electrical components, fuses, contractors, controls, etc.
• May service and repair air conditioners, up to 200 tons cooling capacity in buildings.
• Troubleshoot vav controls.
• Performs other duties as assigned such as electrical, plumbing, or general maintenance.

Basic Qualifications:

Must be a US Citizen.

Valid Drivers License-Driving is required for this position.

Overtime/Weekend work will be required occasionally.

Industrial/Commercial HVAC experience with refrigeration and controls systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

Completion of HVAC vocational training.

Universal EPA certified.

Knowledge using Laptop, and use building automated system software.

Ability to read blueprints: mechanical, electrical, plumbing.

Ability to maintain and install sheaves(pulleys), belts and bearings on AHUs

Knowledge using sheave/belt gauge and belt tensiometer.

Knowledge working on AHU motors up to 100hp.

Ability to troubleshoot up to 480 Volts.
