A growing subcontractor specializing in infrastructure projects across the electrical, traffic systems, and utilities sectors is seeking someone to manage projects. With a strong reputation for quality, safety, and innovation, they deliver solutions involving directional boring, duct banks, foundations, and dry utility installations for public and private clients throughout the region.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Project Engineer/Project Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of construction projects from inception to completion. This role requires strong technical expertise, field experience, and the ability to manage budgets, schedules, and subcontractors while ensuring high-quality, safe, and on-time delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and manage construction projects specializing in:

    • Electrical systems (underground and overhead)

    • Traffic signal and ITS systems

    • Dry utilities (power, telecom, gas)

    • Directional boring and trenchless installations

    • Concrete duct banks and equipment foundations

  • Prepare project schedules, cost estimates, and resource allocation plans.

  • Coordinate with field crews, subcontractors, clients, utility agencies, and inspectors.

  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, resolve issues, and ensure compliance with plans and safety regulations.

  • Maintain project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, change orders, and closeout documentation.

  • Lead project meetings and communicate status to internal stakeholders and clients.

  • Support the bid process with takeoffs, vendor quotes, and scope review.



Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil/Electrical Engineering, or related field (or equivalent field experience).

  • 3+ years of experience in project engineering or project management within the construction industry (experience in specialty trades preferred).

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, and project scheduling software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.

  • OSHA 30 Certification is a plus.
