The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for analyzing customer requirements and developing competitive, high-quality system and station concepts. This role utilizes application engineering principles and calculations to ensure design integrity, supports project execution through machine build and start-up, and interfaces with both customers and internal departments. The Mechanical Engineer will also serve as Lead Engineer on projects when required.
Key Responsibilities Project & Design ExecutionAnalyze customer requirements and specifications including terms and conditions, corporate standards, drawings, and quotation needs.
Develop conceptual solutions including process flow strategies, handling methods, station concepts, timing charts, and layouts.
Ensure high-quality and cost-effective designs are delivered on time and within project budgets.
Oversee the complete design and release process, ensuring conformance with specifications.
Supervise machine build, debug, installation, start-up, and buyoff phases.
Create technical proposals, system descriptions, and specification responses.
Develop sketches, motion sheets, and CAD layouts to support concept presentations.
Prepare PowerPoint presentations for customer meetings and internal reviews.
Maintain accurate and organized project documentation throughout the lifecycle.
Deliver all as-built drawings, manuals, and project documentation post-completion.
Attend customer line-up meetings and site visits to gather detailed requirements.
Support sales with technical input and presentation strategies.
Obtain and review vendor quotations and technical specifications.
Collaborate with suppliers and subcontractors to align on project needs.
Serve as the Lead Mechanical Engineer as needed.
Interface with Controls, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Sales, and Service teams to ensure clear communication and effective task execution.
Identify and resolve project issues in a timely and collaborative manner.
Manage change orders, project meetings, and reporting for both customer and internal stakeholders.
Participate in internal project reviews and provide feedback for process improvements.
Identify lessons learned and contribute to best practices for future projects.
Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field or Experience.
