The following position is to join our RTX Corporate team:

RTX is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our Corporate EHS Remediation Group and manage multiple projects within our portfolio of sites and provide business process improvement and initiative support to the RTX Remediation Group and its leadership. The ideal candidate will have strong technical, organizational, and communication skills and be capable of working both individually and in a team environment. The candidate will be responsible for providing all aspects (technical, financial, administrative, communications, etc.) of remediation project management involving site investigations, feasibility studies, remedial design, construction, and operation. The candidate will also coordinate or provide support for various Group-level business management tasks and initiatives such as Supplier competitive bidding coordination, EHS compliance auditing of remediation installations, financial tracking and reporting, emerging regulations tracking, documenting financial assurance compliance, assuring land-use restriction compliance, and performing other related tasks. The candidate may also work with outside stakeholders such as federal, state and local regulators, property owners, neighbors, and public-interest groups and participate in project-status and risk management presentations to senior management.

Major responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Managing limited to moderately complex soil, groundwater, and sediment remediation projects involving investigations, feasibility studies, and remedial design/operation

  • Selecting, managing, and overseeing environmental consultants

  • Effectively controlling environmental risks, liabilities, and costs, while appropriately protecting human health and the environment

  • Estimating, managing, and tracking environmental remediation costs

  • Proactively identifying and communicating potential reserve risks

  • Communicating with internal and external stakeholders on environmental matters

  • Evaluating environmental data and developing strategies to reduce risk

  • Supporting environmental counsel during mergers and acquisitions, real estate transactions, and litigation

  • Providing Group and Team Level business administration and/or special initiative support in the areas of EHS compliance audits and inspections, financial assurance tracking, emerging regulations tracking, divested-property land-use restriction tracking and monitoring, competitive bidding coordination, etc.

  • Willingness for some domestic travel

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically Bachelors degree or equivalent in Geology, Engineering, Environmental science, or related technical field

  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in the environmental remediation and/or environmental compliance fields

  • Demonstrated experience in environmental project management

  • Strong knowledge of related federal/state regulations

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to relay complex information to internal and external stakeholders

  • An ability to manage project tasks and think strategically to reduce risks and control costs over the life of a project

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and to collaborate in a team environment

  • Must be self-directed and able to manage multiple projects and priorities

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Possess or be in pursuit of a degree or minor in Business Administration or related business/financial management field

  • 15 years or greater of professional work experience in a related field

  • Experience working in the manufacturing sector (aerospace manufacturing considered to be a plus)

  • Experience with regulatory agency interactions

  • Experience with EHS compliance auditing/inspections (CHMM, CSP, ASP, and CIH certifications considered to be a plus)

  • Experience with financial reporting including annual spend planning and environmental reserve development

  • Experience with Supplier and Consultant coordination and contract management

  • Database and/or management information system/platform experience

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or similar

The salary range for this role is 101,000 USD - 203,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
