About the Role
We are a high-end, custom cabinet shop seeking an experienced foreman to lead our production team and ensure the high level of quality for which we are known. The ideal candidate will have extensive woodworking experience, strong leadership skills, and a passion for precision and quality.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise daily production operations and manage a team of 4-5 skilled craftsmen
Interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and specifications to ensure accurate project execution
Coordinate workflow and production schedules to meet project deadlines
Maintain quality control standards throughout all phases of production
Train and mentor junior staff on proper techniques and safety protocols
Manage inventory levels and coordinate material orders with suppliers
Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and maintain a clean, organized workspace
Communicate and troubleshoot with project managers on job specifications
Troubleshoot production issues and implement solutions to improve efficiency
Required Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of experience in cabinet making or custom millwork
Proficiency with woodworking machinery including table saws, shapers, CNC equipment, and finishing systems
Strong understanding of wood species, joinery techniques, and cabinet construction methods
Knowledge of different finishing techniques and materials
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
Working knowledge of safety protocols and OSHA regulations
Physical ability to lift 50+ pounds and stand for extended periods
Preferred Qualifications
Previous supervisory or leadership experience in a manufacturing environment
Experience with both custom residential and commercial cabinetry
Familiarity with CAD software
Proficiency in door/drawer front and drawer box ordering
Experience with cabinet finishing/painting
